Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN) has decided to upgrade their 60metre drilling jack-up rig. The rig is currently being built in Petrovietnam Marine Shipyard Company (PV Shipyard) facilities in Vung Tau City.
In Vung Tau city, the Addendum attached with Contract No. 526/HD/DKVN has been signed by authorized reppresentative of Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN) – Director of PetroVietnam Drilling Platform Building Board (PBB) and Managing Director of PV Shipyard. The major content was to extend the legs length and rename the project as “New building of 90metre water-depth drilling jackup rig” from its 60metre predecessor.
The contract No.526/HD-DKVN signed on 21st Jan 2009, took effect on 21/05/2009, is an emphasized national key mechanical project with the goal of building the first 60m drilling jackup rig in Vietnam with total investment of more than $USD180million and handover schedule of 32 months. With the abovementioned upgrading decision, the delivery time would be added in 4 months.
