The Forward Gear Units of the 90metre Jack-up were successfully installed on the last day of 2010 by PV Shipyard engineers, in a strictly safety condition. At start, the installing work conducted under high prudence based on careful aligning calculation without having direct onsite guidance and supervision of the manufacturer (Le Tourneau).

Inherit the experience, PV Shipyard continued installation work
with the Starboard Gear Units, which took only one week to finish. Le
Tourneau experts showed their satisfactory attitude with the
installation result and alignment statistic solely made by PV Shipyard
engineers when presenting on site on December 31, as well as encouraged
the company to independently carry on the similar job.
The remaining Port Gear Units is planned to complete within January with
hoping of being ahead the schedule by the experience gained from the
prior success. This result again affirmed the prominent ability of PV
Shipyard engineers in sharp- minded and active performing to the new and
high technology requirement of the project.
4 Gear Units formed a set of Gear Unit for a leg, known as jacking
system to support the elevation of the rig which lifts 8,000MT to the
maximum height of 140 meter as propelling. The installation required
absolute accuracy of alignment and integrity among 3 legs.
