On June 14, 2025, at the Melia Ho Tram Conference Hall, Phuoc Thuan Commune, Xuyen Moc District, Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province, the PetroVietnam Marine Shipyard Joint Stock Company (PV Shipyard) organized a workshop titled “Sharing Experiences in the Implementation of Ongoing and Completed Projects at PV Shipyard.” The event was attended by the Board of Directors, Management Board, Heads/Deputy Heads of Departments, Project Managers, key personnel from the company, and notably, representatives from contractors currently working at PV Shipyard’s fabrication yard.

The workshop aimed to create a platform for open discussion and experience sharing, focusing on lessons learned from actual production, technical and managerial solutions during the execution of mechanical fabrication projects at PV Shipyard, such as OSS Topside, Baltica 2, Fengmiao Topside, Kanfa, and others.

In his keynote speech, Mr. Nguyen Nam Anh – Deputy General Director of PV Shipyard – emphasized the global trend of offshore wind development, the challenges and opportunities ahead for PV Shipyard, and the vital role of key personnel in ensuring safety, schedule adherence, and quality assurance across projects.

Mr. Bui Thanh Nam – Party Secretary and Chairman of the Board of Directors of PV Shipyard – praised the collective efforts of all staff, especially the core management team, for standing with PV Shipyard through the toughest times and steadily advancing the company’s growth.

During the workshop, presentations from project managers of OSS Topside, Baltica 2, Fengmiao Topside, Kanfa, and others focused on the following key areas:

  • Project management experiences and effective resource coordination throughout execution.
  • Solutions for enhancing quality and precision in steel structure fabrication, painting, and especially optimizing warehouse and yard layout to reduce idle time and maximize the efficiency of machinery and storage.
  • Adoption of new technologies, automation, and digital transformation in mechanical fabrication.
  • Lessons learned from major projects such as Kanfa and OSS Topside, including early-stage difficulties in bidding, taking on projects during times of limited workload and low pricing, as well as design, procurement, workforce, and shortage of management resources.
  • Insights into resource management, production control, and establishing performance-based incentives for direct labor.

The workshop also served as a valuable occasion for mechanical fabrication contractors to share perspectives, foster mutual understanding, and collaborate with PV Shipyard to improve current processes and build strong, long-term partnerships for future development.

At the conclusion of the workshop, Mr. Truong Duy Lam – Deputy Party Secretary and General Director of PV Shipyard – expressed high appreciation for the insights shared, the practical contributions from ongoing and completed projects, and affirmed the company’s commitment to continuing such knowledge-sharing forums in the near future.
