PV Shipyard Successfully Loads Out And Hands Over Steel Structures For European Offshore Wind HVDC Project

Following the groundbreaking ceremony in August 2025, on February 14, 2026, in Rach Dua Ward, Ho Chi Minh City, Petrovietnam Marine Shipyard (PV Shipyard) officially held the Loadout and Handover Ceremony for the steel structures of the 2GW Nederwiek Beta HVDC project for the developer TenneT (Netherlands) and customer Seatrium.

This event marks a significant milestone, affirming PV Shipyard’s breakthrough capabilities in meeting the stringent standards of the global renewable energy supply chain.

Conquering International Technical Standards

The project scope involved the fabrication of the Loadout Support Frame (LSF) and Skid Beams, with a total weight of approximately 5,500 tons. These are critical components used for the support, transportation, and loadout of the 2GW substation topside located in the North Sea, Europe.

This structural system requires extreme mechanical precision to ensure the absolute safety of coordinating and positioning super-heavy and oversized blocks both onshore and on barges, even under harsh marine environments.

Record-Breaking Progress and Safety

The highlight of the project lies in PV Shipyard’s superior project management and the determined spirit of its workforce:

  • 75 Days Ahead of Schedule: The Skid Beams category was completed and handed over more than two months earlier than planned—a testament to optimized production processes and agile management.
  • 500,000 Safe Working Hours (Zero LTI): Throughout the construction phase, the project recorded no Lost Time Injuries, fully complying with the most rigorous safety standards set by European partners.

Strengthening Cooperation and Expanding Vision

The ceremony was honored by the presence of leadership from PTSC, representatives from the developer TenneT, the customer Seatrium, and strategic partners. Speaking at the event, international partners highly praised PV Shipyard’s sense of responsibility and seamless coordination in bringing the project to a remarkably successful conclusion.

The handover of this inaugural HVDC project marks a pivotal transition for PV Shipyard from the traditional oil and gas sector toward offshore wind. With over 17 years of experience, PV Shipyard is steadily asserting the position of Vietnamese enterprises on the global clean energy map, standing ready for even larger-scale projects in the future.
